Apple is reportedly going to introduce it at WWDC 2015.
At the Worldwide Developers Conference 2015 in June Apple is expected to make lots of new announcements. It will unveil iOS 9, the next major update for OS X, possibly talk about its new music streaming service and perhaps may be even its internet TV streaming service. As per a new report the company will also announce a rewards program for Apple Pay.
For those who are unaware, Apple Pay is a payments service that the company announced late last year. It’s currently available in only a handful of countries and works with iOS devices, even the Apple Watch. Apple is expected to expand the payments service to more countries later this year.
The report says that this rewards program is going to be quite similar to other rewards programs, customers who keep going back to one particular merchant and keep using Apple Pay for their shopping, they will be provided with additional benefits and perks.
So far not much is known about this rewards program for Apple Pay, but since we know that most rewards programs offer points, discounts, free stuff and other similar goodies, it’s likely to be in the same vein.
There has been no confirmation from Apple on this, and with WWDC 2015 around the corner, don’t expect it to reveal anything at this point in time. Worldwide Developers Conference 2015 starts June 8th in San Francisco, California.
