Revamped Apple TV said to be in development, might be released in the coming month

It was rumored that Apple might make an Apple TV related announcement at its iPhone event on September 10, it didn’t. Now, rumor has it that next month the company might release a revamped Apple TV.

Multiple sources and insiders claim that Apple is developing a new Apple TV. Detailed information about this new device isn’t available right now, however insiders believe that the company might announce it next month. Apple is rumored to conduct a separate event in October to launch its new iPads, but the company hasn’t confirmed its iPad plans as yet. So the possibility exists that a new Apple TV might not be unveiled in October.

It is not known right now what sort of changes the company is making in the new Apple TV. The last refresh of Apple’s set-top box was done back in 2012, and it was a minor refresh. A few weeks ago it was rumored that perhaps Apple will make a TV related announcement later this year, some expect that it might finally unveil its rumored full fledged TV set. The fact remains though, the rumor mill does not have an idea right now of the improvements and changes being made to the next generation set-top box.

In related Apple TV news, it is believed that the company might release a major software update for the device on September 18, the day it rolls out iOS 7 to the public.
