Razer has made its BlackWidow lineup more affordable with the introduction of a new line of mechanical gaming keyboards, dubbed the Razer BlackWidow X series.
The BlackWidow X series is a minimalist version of the original Razer BlackWidow and loses the protective top cover, exposing the military-grade metal top plate construction found on all current Razer BlackWidow keyboards. However, most of the core features of the more premium Razer BlackWidow keyboards have been retained.
The BlackWidow X lineup comes with Razer Chroma technology, which allows users to customizable lighting on each key, choosing from 16.8 million colors. In-game Chrome lighting effects are also integrated into popular titles such as “Call of Duty: Black Ops III”, “Overwatch”, “Blade and Soul”, and more. Razer is also offering models without the Chroma lighting feature.
The new keyboards use multi-award winning Razer Mechanical switch, the world’s first key switch designed specifically for gaming. The key switches are highly durable as well, with a guarantee of up to 80 million key strokes. Some models will be available with classic Cherry MX Blue switches as well, aimed at traditional mechanical keyboard enthusiasts.
Prices start at $69.99 for the BlackWidow X Tournament Edition and go up to $159.99 for the Razer BlackWidow X Chrome.
