Industry analyst Pan Juitang today shared some key details regarding the Snapdragon 830 chipset from Qualcomm.
According to Juitang, the Snapdragon 830 will feature twice the number of cores as the current Snapdragon 820, which means it will be an octa-core chipset based on the custom Kryo cores. The GPU is said to receive a major boost on the connectivity front as well, with an LTE Cat.16 modem.
The chipset will reportedly be manufactured on a 10nm process, which suggests that the first devices powered by the Snapdragon 830 are not expected to launch anytime soon. While the analyst did not reveal a release date in this Weibo post, it is likely that the chipset would debut sometime in Q1 next year or maybe even by the end of this year in a few select devices.
