Since their inception, LAN parties have radically changed the face multiplayer gaming. The largest and most popular LAN event in North America is of course Quakecon. From its grass roots begining, Quakecon has always been all about the fans. The event started out 9 years ago and has transformed into an event that brings people across the globe together for four days of fragging. With over 4,000 people in total attendance Quakecon holds the title of the biggest LAN party in the western hemisphere. Featuring 3000 BYOC(Bring Your Own Computer) spots, countless activities, contests and tournaments, it is the premier LAN party to go attend in North America.

Quakecon 2004 was held at the Gaylord Texan resort & hotel in Grapevine, TX. This brand new facility opened in April of 2004 and has previously hosted the summer 2004 CPL event. The venue is home to 180,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, over 1,500 rooms, 7 restaurants and more; making it very difficult to end up bored outside of the LAN itself.

The inside of the Gaylord is a site to behold in itself. It really feels like your outside when you are in the building, with all the waterfalls and dense plant life that is in the Gaylord’s courtyard.
