Purported space gray iPad 5 rear housing seen in high resolution pictures

The first high resolutions pictures of a purported iPad 5 rear housing in the new space gray color have appeared online.

Apple is expected to unveil the next generation iPads soon, possibly even later this month. The iPad 5 is definitely going to be one of the tablets that is going to be announced. There have been a lot of rumors about this tablet over the past few months, but nothing has been confirmed as of now. Most rumors are about the design particularly, given the fact that the iPad 5 is expected to come with substantial design changes. Purported iPad 5 rear housings have been seen in the past as well, and the one seen in these pictures is no different from the rest, meaning that it is likely that this particular component is the real deal.

The purported iPad 5 rear housing has actually not been seen in such high resolution pictures up till now. It is in the space gray color, which debuted with the iPhone 5S last month. Apple has replaced the old black color with space gray on the new iPhone, it is expected to do the same with the next generation iPad. The design looks similar to the iPad mini, this is one of the things that has been consistently rumored about the iPad 5.

A latest report suggests that the Apple iPad announcement might be made on October 22. Apple is yet to confirm its iPad plans, though it is expected that on this day, the company will not only announce the iPad 5, but it will also announce the next generation iPad mini as well.
