Adult Entertainment at E3 2016 for VR Experiences

Normally, E3 is best known for the showcase of games by the major publishers and developers of the industry. However, because of the emphasis on Virtual Reality this year, there is a new face at E3. Naughty America, a major porn studio in the United States, is also appearing on the E3. The reason is to show off the company’s work in VR, which they quote themselves as “one of the first studios to fully embrace virtual reality (VR) as the most immersive format for adult entertainment.”

Naughty America’s CIO Ian Paul says in an official statement, “We want everyone to demo our VR content. You become so completely immersed in the scene that you feel like you’re really there, in the room – as though you could reach out and touch the performers. This is a completely new experience. And because VR is a perfect medium for both gaming and adult entertainment, E3 attendees will be able to experience both.”

Pornography is often tightly bound to many technology milestones. Often credited as the deciding factor in the war between Betamax and DVR, and played a part in the HDVD-Bluray format war. This year, the adult industry in America has made significant strides in the field of VR adult entertainment. Having the adult industry appear at a gaming convention might well be a deciding factor not just in whether or not VR takes off, but which model consumers decide to use.

Paul continues his statement, adding, ““We predict that by the end of this year, 10-20 million people will view adult VR content at least once a month.During E3, we want to extend an open hand to the gaming industry bridging content on the opportunities VR represents. We want to help the customers that have bought headsets for gaming get the most value out of them as possible.”

Those who are still at E3 and want to check them out, head to South Hall and look for booth #2758, where they are offering demonstrations and interviews. However, those based in Asia will unlikely be able to try it out for themselves.
