For a game that’s still in early access, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is doing remarkably well. The developer behind the title — Korea’s Bluehole — has already racked up five million sales and over $100 million in revenue in just four months, making Battlegrounds one of the best-selling games this year.
The game already overtook GTA V in terms of current player count, and is third on Steam’s list behind DOTA 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. Again, this is for a title that isn’t officially released yet. Bluehole has announced that it will launch the game sometime in the fourth quarter of 2017, so that should be anytime between October and December.
The studio is working on two new maps, weather systems that include clouds and rain, and avatar customizations along with changes to the gameplay mechanics. You’ll be able to vault over objects like cars, dive through windows, and much more.
