Plantronics Announces New GameCom X40 and GameCom X95 Gaming Headsets

If you happen to own an Xbox 360 and are less than satisfied with the less-than-dismal sound being put out through the television set’s stereo speakers, Plantronics’ latest announcement will probably serve as a great start to the festive season. Not because they are offering any Christmas freebies though: rather, the company is announcing the availability of two new gaming stereo headsets, both of which are designed to work with the Xbox 360.

Plugging a gaming headset into a PC is easy, but the same cannot be said for doing so on a video game console, due to the fact that the console usually requires more than just a simple 3.5mm stereo jack. But leave to Plantronics to solve that problem: the audio communications company has just announced two new gaming headsets, the GameCon X40 and the GameCon X95, specially designed for use with the Xbox 360.

The new Plantronics GameCom X40 (pictured above) is a corded headset that features a
close-ear design and 40mm speakers for an exceptional stereo sound. The
GameCom X40 eliminates cumbersome in-line controls by placing separate
volume and audio control buttons on the ear pods. The headset is
extremely lightweight and the specially designed cushioned earpods and
headband redistribute pressure for long wearing comfort. The GameCom
X40 also features a concealed mic-boom that easily tucks into the
headband when not in use.

The Plantronics GameCom X95 is a wireless gaming headset that delivers
full stereo sound from 40mm speakers. With a closed-ear design and
intuitive on-ear controls for changing volume and audio levels, users
can immerse themselves in games, music and movies without disturbing
others. The GameCom X95 has a sleek and modern design with a
concealable mic that easily tucks into the headband when not in use.
Perfect for long gaming sessions, the GameCom X95 can be used for more
than 20 hours before replacing the included AAA batteries.
