Palm Pre 2 With WebOS 2.0 Coming To Verizon

Palm Pre 2

HP acquired Palm in April this year, including their webOS operating system. And it only took the company less than a year to announce a Palm Pre 2 smartphone, based on the new webOS 2.0. Unfortunately, it is going to be available in US, on Verizon.

The new Palm Pre 2 features a 3.1-inch multitouch HVGA display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, built-in GPS, 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and 16GB memory. It weighs approximately 145g and is currently availabile only in black.

Incorporating the new webOS 2.0, the Pre 2 claims improved multitasking capabilities; lets you email, create message and update your status without having to launch an app; and sign in to your Facebook, Google, Microsoft Exchange, LinkedIn and Yahoo! accounts easily.

No word as to whether the Palm Pre 2 will be offered in Asia, but in US, the smartphone is available to Verizon Wireless only.
