Oppo has introduced a new selfie-focused smartphone in China, dubbed the A57. The smartphone features a 16MP selfie camera on the front, paired with an f/2.0 aperture lens.
The smartphone features a 5.2-inch 720 x 1280 HD resolution LCD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Powering the Oppo A57 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 453 octa-core chipset with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the handset comes with 32GB of onboard storage, which can be further expanded by up to 128GB with a microSD card. The rear camera is a 13MP unit with phase detection autofocus, an f/2.2 aperture lens, and an LED flash. The A57 includes a fingerprint scanner as well, embedded inside the physical home button on the front.
As far as connectivity goes, the Oppo A57 comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with GLONASS, and 4G LTE network support. It is powered by a 2900mAh capacity battery inside, which should be able to deliver decent battery stamina. The dual-SIM handset runs on the manufacturer’s ColorOS 3.0 version, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. In terms of dimensions, the handset measures 149.1 x 72.9 x 7.65mm and weighs in at 147 grams.
The Oppo A57 has been priced at RMB 1599 in China, which converts to about $231. It will be going on sale in the country starting December 12 in Rose Gold and Gold color options. The A57 might make it to a few markets outside China in the near future, but the company hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
