Oppo Find 9 could launch next summer, clams analyst Pan Jiutang

Popular analyst Pan Jiutang has revealed that the Oppo Find 9 is currently in development and is not expected to be launched before summer 2017. The news is definitely quite disappointing, as the Find 9 has been in the rumor mills for a really long time now.

The Oppo Find 9 will succeed the Find 7, which was launched way back in 2014 and was among the first smartphones on the market to feature 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution display. It was rumored to be made official in June this year, but it was later reported that the smartphone’s official unveiling may have been delayed. However, since Pan Jiutang is a trustworthy source, we don’t think it is a good idea of expecting the Find 9 to be launched this year. The development process has apparently not yet been finished, which has pushed the release to summer 2017. But seeing how things have turned out over the past year or so, we won’t be surprised if there are further delays reported next year.

Previous rumors had suggested that the Oppo Find 9 would feature a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution and could be powered by Qualcomm’s all-new Snapdragon 821 flagship mobile SoC. In terms of memory, the smartphone was tipped to come with 6 or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. In the camera department, the Find 9 was rumored to come equipped with a high-resolution 21MP sensor at the back and an equally impressive 16MP selfie camera on the front. Another key highlight of the Oppo Find 9 could be a large 4100mAh capacity battery, with Oppo’s Super VOOC fast charging technology that it demoed earlier this year. But now that the Oppo Find 9 has been delayed, we’re not sure if Oppo will stick with the above specifications or make some significant changes to make sure it stays competitive against other flagship smartphones when it goes on sale next year.
