Ahead of its official announcement tomorrow, an official teaser for the OnePlus 3T leaked online today. As expected, the teaser image confirms a design almost identical to its predecessor, the OnePlus 3. The teaser image also confirms the OnePlus 3T moniker, with a “T” clearly visible on the screen.
Along with the teaser, the Weibo Post also re-confirms some key specifications of the upcoming flagship smartphone. The key highlight will be the more powerful Snapdragon 821 SoC under the hood, with a higher clock speed and a higher clocked GPU that delivers better numbers in benchmarks. You can expect to see a slight improvement in terms of real-world performance as well.
In terms of battery life, the OnePlus 3T is expected to fare better than the OnePlus 3, with a larger 3300mAh capacity battery doing duty inside. Imaging performance is likely to see some significant improvements as well, as the smartphone is rumored to use the newer Sony IMX398 16MP sensor at the back. The new IMX398 Exmor RS sensor is actually the successor to the IMX298 Exmor RS sensor used on the OnePlus 3. So far, the IMX398 sensor has only been used by Oppo, on the R9s and the R9s Plus smartphones. Rest of the key specs are most likely going to remain similar to the OnePlus 3.
Thanks to the above improvements, the OnePlus 3T is rumored to be priced $80 higher than the OnePlus 3. Of course, the final pricing will only be revealed tomorrow, once the OnePlus 3T is made official.
