Nokia’s 6-inch Lumia 1520 poses in leaked image gallery

Nokia’s Lumia 1520, expected to be the first phablet powered by Windows Phone 8, has been revealed in excruciating detail in a set of leaked photos.

The 6-inch monstrosity has been photographed from every angle – it looks like every other Lumia handset (read: quite attractive), and seems to be quite thin (like the Lumia 925). There’s a PureView camera on the back that’s said to take both 5 and 16-megapixel photos at once, and a few dots just above the camera look like they could either be speakers or dedicated microphones, perhaps for stereo video recording.

On the hardware front, the 1520 reportedly sports a 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD slot, all of which match rumors that we’ve been hearing about the device. The pictures show it running on Windows Phone 8 GDR3 along with Nokia’s Bittersweet shimmer firmware, which itself was seen in leaked pictures and videos over the weekend, and includes features such as extra live tile column on the Start screen, driving mode, custom ringtones, multitasking improvements, and more.

The Lumia 1520 is expected to be announced at a New York event in late September, and I’m sure we’ll see further details leak in the days leading up to that event. For now, take a look at a few pictures of the giant phone in the pictures below, and check out the source link for the full image gallery.
