Nokia Lumia 1520 captured in all its glory, packs smaller than 41 MP camera sensor

Aaand it’s out. The first clear, full shot of the Nokia Lumia 1520, that is, courtesy of the relentless serial leaker @evleaks.

Nokia Lumia 1520

Previously known as “Bandit”, this thing is rumored to be the first full-fledged Windows Phone 8-based phablet, as well as the biggest Nokia handheld to date and also the first ever to run WP, sport a Full HD screen and pack quad-core power all at once.

Allegedly spotted next to the Lumia 1020 not long ago, the 1520 shows its face (and back) today in what appears to be a photo made for the press. No idea how it is that our source entered in its possession (don’t ask), since the unveiling event is likely still at least a few weeks away, but it’s not like it matters.

What matters is we have no reason to doubt its credibility. As for what one can make of the pic, it’s pretty simple and straightforward. For all intents and purposes, the Lumia 1520 is a mere jumbo-sized 1020. Likely with a 6-inch display.

The build materials, overall elegance and robustness are very much identical, though there is one major difference to be noticed. The camera on 1520’s back is unlikely to pack a sensor as outstanding as the 1020 and instead looks a lot like Lumia 925’s 8 MP snapper.

That doesn’t sound all too encouraging, albeit we can still hope to see Nokia Microsoft cram some extra pixels in there. Definitely not 41, but maybe at least 13. Any other wishes for the Lumia genie? He may be listening, you know.
