Mike Wang, president of the joint management team at Nokia China has told media persons in China that the company will release new Android-powered smartphones and tablets in the fourth quarter of this year.
While there are no specific details available at this point, Nokia could launch around two or three smartphones running on Android, with all of them being ODM devices. While the smartphones and tablets will be manufactured for Nokia by Foxconn, the devices will be designed by HMD.
According to rumors, the smartphones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and could sport Quad HD resolution OLED displays. They are also rumored to include a 22.6MP camera at the back and could ship with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
