Nokia announces the Lumia 930, Lumia 630 and Lumia 635

Nokia’s Lumia 930 is its latest high-end handset, while the Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 cater to the entry-level segment.

Nokia announced a trio of Windows Phone 8.1 devices at the BUILD conference in San Francisco yesterday. The Finnish manufacturer has also stated that all of its existing Windows Phone 8 devices will be making the switch to Windows Phone 8.1 via an OTA update that will be pushed sometime in the summer.

First off is the high-end Lumia 930, which is an international version of the Lumia Icon. The device features the same hardware as the Lumia Icon, which includes a 5-inch full-HD screen with a pixel density of 441ppi. The screen comes with Gorilla Glass 3 coating for scratch resistance and utilizes Nokia’s sensitive touch panel that allows users to interact with the screen with gloves on. The Lumia 930 comes with a 2.2 GHz quad-core version of the Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB of internal storage along with 7 GB of OneDrive storage.

The Lumia 930 features an aluminium frame along with a polycarbonate back. Available in four colors, the device also features Nokia’s 20-megapixel PureView camera with OIS. There is a 1.2 MP camera at the front for HD video calls. In terms of connectivity, the device features LTE Category 4 modem, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, DLNA and micro-USB 2.0. The Lumia 930 has a 2420 mAh battery that can be wirelessly charged through any Qi wireless charger.

With the Lumia 630 and Lumia 635, Nokia is catering to the entry-level segment. The Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 feature identical hardware, with the only major distinction being that the Lumia 635 has LTE connectivity. The Lumia 630 will be offered in single and dual-SIM variants while the Lumia 635 will be a single-SIM offering.

Both devices feature a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 854 x 480, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400, 512 MB RAM, 8 GB storage, 5 MP camera, Wi-Fi and 3G (4G on the Lumia 635) connectivity along with an 1830 mAh battery. There isn’t a front facing camera on either device.

The Lumia 630 will be available for $159 for the single-SIM variant, while the dual-SIM version will cost $169. The Lumia 930 will be available for $599. All three devices will launch globally next month.
