Nokia 230 feature phone goes official with an aluminum back & 2.8-inch display


Microsoft today unveiled the new Nokia 230 and Nokia 230 Dual SIM features phones with a premium aluminum back.

The Nokia 230 comes with a premium aluminum back cover (rest of the body is made out of polycarbonate) that will be available in two different color options – Silver and Dark Silver. The feature phone sports a 2.8-inch 240 x 320 QVGA resolution display, 16MB RAM, 2MP rear camera with support for recording videos at 240p and an LED flash, 2MP selfie camera with LED flash and VGA video recording capability, Bluetooth 3.0, FM radio receiver, and 900MHz/1800MHz GSM network support.

There is no onboard storage on offer, but the phone does support microSD cards up to 32GB. It measures 124.6 x 53.4 x 10.9mm and weighs 91.8 grams. There is a 1200mAh capacity battery inside, claimed to deliver 27 days of standby time on the single-SIM model and up to 22 days on the dual-SIM model. The Symbian Series 30+ phone comes pre-installed with Opera Mini browser, Bing Search, and MSN Weather apps.

Both the Nokia 230 single-SIM and dual-SIM models will go on sale starting next month in India, Asia, and the Middle East markets for $55.
