Nintendo Announces Three New Colours For DSi XL

Does the DSi XL’s lack of colour choices turn you off from purchasing one of Nintendo’s latest handheld gaming consoles? Well, apparently now you have a very good excuse to consider the XL once again: Nintendo has announced that the customers will now have three more hues to choose from: yellow, green and blue. This will bumps the console’s current variety of colours up from two to five.

Does the DSi XL’s colour choices of either ‘wine red’ or ‘dark brown’ seem extremely limiting to you? If so, Nintendo’s latest announcement should probably be just the thing to reignite the public’s interest in its Nintendo DSi XL console.

According to the company, the DSi XL will be soon getting three additional colours for a greater variety of colours for consumers to choose from. In addition to the current hues of ‘Wine Red’ and ‘Dark Brown’, the company is planning to release green, yellow and blue versions of the popular handheld video game console. thus bringing the total number of colour choices for the DSi XL from two to five.

Nintendo also added that the new green, yellow and blue DSi XL consoles will be functionally identical to the original DSi XL consoles, and will come preloaded with the same software within.

“The latest iterations of the Nintendo DSi XL will offer the same functionality as the wine red and dark brown consoles; featuring the same glossy sheen on top, matt finish on the underside that provides extra grip, bigger screens and wider viewing angle,” explained Nintendo. “It will still continue to be pre-loaded with two Nintendo DSiWare software: A Little Bit of… Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: Arts Edition and Dictionary 6 in 1 with Camera Function, as well as the Nintendo DSi Browser, which enables you to easily access the internet wherever a wireless internet connection is available.”

The new colours will be made available to the European market on 8 October. However, no mention was made about Asian availability.
