Nexus 5 detailed in FCC filing

It looks more and more likely that LG will make the Nexus 5 as a device that is very similar to the one inadvertently leaked by Google last week was revealed by the FCC.

Nexus 5 LG

The FCC filing was submitted as a class 2 permissive change for LG’s G2, which mentions that the antenna on the G2 has been modified. However, the images reveal an entirely different device, which might actually turn out to be the Nexus 5. It is entirely plausible that the Nexus 5 will be based off the G2, as the Nexus 4 featured a lot of design elements from the Optimus G. Adding further fuel to the mix, @evleaks tweeted the same image and mentioned that it was indeed the Nexus 5.

Earlier during the week, a device with a model number LG D820/D821 was caught undergoing testing at the FCC, and was widely rumored to be the Nexus 5. However, those rumors were squashed by @evleaks, who mentioned that the device was a CDMA variant of the LG G2. Today, he refuted those claims and mentioned that LG D820/D821 could turn out to be the Nexus 5 after all.

From the filings, we can gather the hardware details the Nexus 5 will likely feature: the device will come with a 4.96-inch full-HD screen, 2 GB RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800. The camera module on the Nexus 5 looks much bigger than the one on the Nexus 4, and might feature image stabilization technology. The device has been slated to come with a 2,300 mAh battery and will most include Android 4.4 KitKat.
