Lenovo-backed ZUK was expected to unveil its new flagship smartphone on the 7th of this month. However, for some reason, the announcement event did not happen. Now it appears the ZUK Edge could be made official on the 20th of this month, according to a new teaser that was released on Chinese microblogging site Weibo today.
The ZUK Edge is going to feature a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution and a high screen-to-body ratio. As we have seen in leaked images of the smartphone, ZUK has not only managed to reduce the bezels on the sides, but the top and bottom bezels are impressively thin as well. The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 821 quad-core SoC, which is one of the most powerful mobile chipsets available right now. The powerful chipset will be paired with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
The flagship smartphone will also include a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP front-facing camera, and a 3000mAh capacity battery. A USB Type-C port is expected to be included as well. The ‘Edge’ will be ZUK’s first smartphone to ship with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box, with the highly customized ZUI custom skin on top. It was rumored to be priced at the equivalent of $390 in China, which would make it one of the cheapest Snapdragon 821-powered flagship smartphones on sale.
