The video reveals just how huge a visual refresh Android 5.0 will bring to the Galaxy S4.
Last week, Galaxy S4 owners were treated to a sweet video that showed an early build of Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the device. The video showed how Android 5.0 will bring big changes to the look and feel of the software on the Galaxy S4, and today, a new video compares both Android 4.4 KitKat and Android 5.0 on two Galaxy S4’s to further drive home the differences the upcoming update will introduce.
Except for the lock screen, almost everything seems to have received a visual overhaul. The settings menus are white, stock apps like calculator, messages and dialer are more colorful and in line with the Lollipop build seen on the Galaxy S5; icons remain unchanged for the most part so it’s not a total refresh, but there are more than enough changes that should make the Galaxy S4 something of a new phone once the official update arrives.
There’s no information on when Samsung plans to release the update for the Galaxy S4, though it will likely be sometime next year after the Galaxy S5 makes the jump to the next big version of Android.
