New report claims Microsoft Surface Phone will launch in 2017

Surface Phone

A new report from Windows Central suggests Microsoft will launch the much-awaited Surface Phone next year and not this year as a few rumors had earlier suggested.

Sources close to Microsoft have allegedly revealed to the publication that Microsoft hopes to introduce three variants of the Surface Phone next year, each aimed at a different price segment for different regions. The first model will be targeted at the consumer market while the second model is going to focus on the business segment. A third variant aimed at the “prosumer” or enthusiasts will be part of the lineup as well. All three variants will reportedly debut sometime in spring 2017.

The latest report also makes it clear once again that Microsoft is not going to launch another Lumia branded handset, which makes the Lumia 650 the last Lumia smartphone.
