New LG Nexus 5 (2015) render leaks, shows laser autofocus sensor

The smaller of the two upcoming Nexus phones is making yet another unofficial appearance.

We heard earlier today that the LG-made Nexus 5 (2015) might go on sale on September 29th, and rising leakster OnLeaks has now leaked a render showing the back of the device. The render reveals a device that is similar to the one we’ve seen in previous leaks and once again confirms the Nexus 5 (2015) will have a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The image also shows a camera sensor that juts out, a design aspect that is becoming pretty common on flagship smartphones these days. Something that could be a laser autofocus lens also seems to be present next to the LED flash, suggesting one of LG’s standout hardware features is making its way to Google’s Nexus lineup. The button placement seems to be odd, however – the volume buttons seem to be below the power button, a setup that isn’t too common.

The device in the render does seem to be missing a Nexus logo at the back, so it’s possible that Google is either doing away with the logo altogether or this isn’t a final render. The number of leaks that have come up in recent weeks mean we should see more live images of the Nexus 5 (2015) leading up to its official unveil.
