New JBL Link Smart Speaker Lineup Has Google Assistant Baked In

Harman International has announced the launch of the JBL Link family of voice-enabled Google Assistant-enabled Bluetooth speakers here in Singapore. This comes a month after Google had released its range of Google Home smart speakers in the country. The JBL Link, however, adds four variants in different forms: the Link 10, Link 20, Link 300 and Link 400. This means that users looking for the perfect smart speaker are able to choose from an even wider array of sizes.

While the JBL Link 10 and 20 come in JBL’s iconic cylindrical aesthetic, the 300 and 500 are more reminiscent of a … pillow. The JBL Link 10 and Link 20 are designed to be highly portable, with 5 and 10 hours of battery life respectively. With IPX7 water resistance, the cylindrical duo is perfect for your Pit-master cum DJ duties at your next poolside family barbecue.

The JBL Link 300 and Link 500, however, are designed for home use and require mains power and do not feature any water resistance.

All speakers feature an inbuilt Google Assistant, and Chromecast baked in for multi-room music playback compatibility. If you’re particular about how your music sounds, the new series of JBL speakers also has Bluetooth 24bit HD audio streaming at 96k.

The JBL Link 10, 20 and 300 features two drivers each, at 8, 10, and 25 watts each, while the largest one, the JBL Link 500, has four 15-watt units.

All four speakers come in black and white and will be available at selected retailers in Singapore.
