New Bose Revolve+ Portable Speaker Promises 360 Degrees Of Sonic Sweetness

The Bose SoundLink Revolve+ Portable Speaker was just launched today in the US without much fanfare. Muscled by a full-range driver and dual bass-radiators, the Revolve+ resolves to deliver full bodied and rich Bluetooth audio everywhere – whether it be under a roof, or under the sun.

It is the first Bose portable to offer 360 degrees of audio in a seamless aluminium cone and – it actually resembles certain products by B&O. In short, it looks more like a luxury showpiece than being rugged enough to withstand accidental bumps and bruises. But bumps won’t break its bones so easily because the Revolve+ is cushioned with soft silicone at its top and bottom. Bose guarantees in their website that you’ll have ‘no worries if you knock it over, toss it in your bag or set it down a little harder than you meant to. Soft materials let you bump worry-free.’

It’s also IPX4 water-resistant for that extra security you’ll need on your next camping trip. While staying zipped up and snug in your tent, you can hang it up like a lamp with its strap – or fix it to a tripod.

The Revolve+ promises to rock for 16 hours on a single charge. When it gives up the ghost, you can re-juice it via Micro-USB or an optional docking cradle at home. To save battery, simply jack your tunes in through it’s traditional 3.5mm AUX input.

You can find its button controls up top and they seem nicely recessed and easy to find. You’ll also have a button that activates Siri or Google Now Voice Assistants from your phone should you ever need a feminine voice to talk to. To talk to a real person simply answer your phone calls by pressing the same button.

Bose SoundLink Revolve+ also works with the Bose Connect App that lets you pair another Revolve+ for Stereo sound.

The new Bose SoundLink Revolve+ is only available in the US at the moment pending a worldwide release. Bose SoundLink Revolve+ (with 16-hour battery life, louder sound and a strap) is priced at US$299.95 while a smaller Revolve Speaker (with 12-hour battery and no strap) is set at US$199.95. Sold in Triple Black and Lux Grey shades.
