New Apple TV set-top box expected at WWDC 2015

A8 processor and Siri expected to be onboard.

Apple has often referred to the Apple TV set-top box as a hobby but the numbers show that this product actually does quite well in the market. Therefore it is not surprising to see Apple cut its price given that the hardware has not been updated for a couple of years now. The company’s upcoming internet TV streaming service will also lean on the Apple TV to reach millions of potential subscribers across the United States.

It goes without saying that the time is ripe for a new Apple TV set-top box. According to a new report the updated Apple TV set-top box will be unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2015 this June.

The new Apple TV is expected to be powered by the A8 processor, the same that powers the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and may even be capable of streaming videos in 4K resolution.

It is also claimed in the report that for the first time ever this new set-top box is going to bring Siri, Apple’s virtual private assistant, to the Apple TV.

There is no information available as yet regarding how much the new set-top box is going to cost and when it will be ultimately released for the public.
