MSI has come up with the new Aero ITX line of compact graphics cards intended for mini-ITX builds. The flagship of the new lineup is the GeForce GTX 1070 Aero ITX OC, which measures in at 18.4cm in length, 14.4cm in height, and is only 2 slots thick.
MSI claims that its Aero ITX graphics cards are perfect for small form factor systems as they require much less space than a full size graphics card, while still delivering impressive performance. Compared to full size graphics cards, the new line of cards are roughly 50% lighter and 40% smaller in terms of physical dimensions.
In terms of cooling, the cards utilize MSI’s TORX fan with patented blade design and ZeroFrozr technology that eliminates fan noise under low-load by stopping the fans, effectively bringing down noise to 0dB. As with other similar implementations, the fans start spinning only once the GPU temperature crosses 60° C. Below the shroud, there is a compact heatsink with 8mm copper super pipes and numerous aluminum fins. Airflow control deflects the airflow to wherever it is required, keeping the GPU cool even when playing the most demanding games. The cards use Military Class 4 components that are MIL-STD-810G certified and are guaranteed to be highly durable.
The complete lineup includes the GeForce GTX 1070 Aero ITX OC/non-OC, GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/3GB Aero ITX in OC and non-OC flavors, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Aero ITX OC/non-OC, and the GeForce GTX 1050 Aero ITX OC/non-OC.
