MSI miniaturises the R9 270X.

MSI is once again catering to the mini-ITX crowd with the R9 270X Gaming 2G ITX. Boasting a length of just 170 mm, the card is ideal for any mini-ITX build. The Gaming name in the line indicates that this features MSI’s custom cooling solution in the form of a Radax fan. The Radax fan is a hybrid solution that features a radial/axial fan that serves to reduce temperature by as much as 30 percent.

The R9 270X Gaming 2G ITX features AMD’s reference design 28 nm Curacao XT GPU, which includes 1280 shader processing cores. MSI’s offering increases the base clock from 1000 MHz to 1030 MHz and the boost clock from 1050 MHz to 1070 MHz. The card retains the 2 GB GDDR5 memory as the reference card and utilises a 256-bit memory interface.

The card also includes MSI’s exclusive technologies, like XSplit Gamecaster. The utility allows you to live stream or record gaming sessions with the click of a button. In addition, you can broadcast your gaming session on Twitch, UStream and YouTube Live through XSplit Gamecaster. There is also a feature that allows you to annotate your broadcasts.

MSI hasn’t announced pricing for the card yet, but it shouldn’t be too long before it hits store shelves.
