Moto X 2016 tipped to feature a fingerprint sensor

Moto X Style

Leakster @Ricciolo revealed in a tweet earlier today that the Moto X 2016 will sport a fingerprint sensor.

The info doesn’t really surprise us and we’re pretty sure most of you aren’t surprised either. After all, fingerprint sensors have almost become a standard feature on most high-end smartphones now. Heck, quite a few affordable mid-range smartphones have also started to offer one.

Unless Motorola has plans of introducing a fingerprint sensor on another device before the Moto X 2016, it could be the first Motorola smartphone to feature a fingerprint scanner after the Atrix 4G in 2011. The Atrix 4G was the first modern smartphone to be equipped with a fingerprint scanner, but due to the sub-par functionality, it didn’t quite become a hit with the consumers and Motorola actually decided to skip the feature on the Atrix 4G successor.

The Moto X 2016 is expected to sport a more premium metal build and may even include a heat pipe inside for better thermal management.
