Moto G 2nd Gen Marshmallow update

Motorola has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for both the 3G and LTE variants of the Moto G (2nd Gen) in India.

The Marshmallow update for the smartphone is currently being rolled out through the OTA route, so you can expect to receive an update notification on your handset very soon, if you haven’t already that is. You do have the option of checking for the update manually as well by going to Settings – About Phone – System Updates.

The Android Marshmallow update for the Moto G (2nd Gen) includes multiple new features like app standby, new app permissions model, app links, ability to use the SD card as internal storage, “Do not disturb”, more intuitive volume controls, Google Now on Tap, Direct Share, and all the other goodies you associate with Android 6.0. After you install the update on your smartphone, you will also notice that Motorola has removed three features with this update – Moto Assist, Motorola Migrate, and Motorola Alert.
