More information on LG second 3D smartphone

Online sources suggest that Korean maker LG would be showcasing their second 3D-capable smartphone at this year's Mobile World Congress, and it could be called Optimus 3D 2 or Optimus 3D Max.

Last year, LG announced the glasses-free Optimus 3D smartphone which lets you view 3D content such as YouTube, games, apps and photo gallery with just a push of a button. This year, the company is planning to launch a new 3D-capable smartphone. According to rumors, the phone could be named the Optimus 3D 2 or Optimus 3D Max, and reveal itself at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2012 at Barcelona.

The phone is said to be around 9.8mm slim and incorporates ISP-LCD display for more vibrant and crisp images, though power consumption is similar to the 4.5-inch Nitro HD display. It will incorporate 4.3-inch 3D WVGA Nova touchscreen display, weighs 148g (20g lighter than Optimus 3D), and comes with 8GB storage capacity, HDMI output, 5-megapixel rear camera, and supports DLNA and HSPA connectivity. The model number is LG CX2, though it is likely to be named 3D Max. The LG smartphone will be carried by SK Telecom in Korea first before rolling out to other countries.
