Microsoft Surface smartphone allegedly coming early 2016, specs revealed

Believe it or not, the Surface phone could be real.

WMPowerUser sources have tipped the website about an upcoming handset that is codenamed “Project Juggernaut Alpha”. The device allegedly features a 5.5” AMOLED Quad HD ClearBlack panel with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, Intel Atom x3 (SoFIA) 64-bit chipset, up to 4GB RAM, 64/128GB storage options, 21MP PureView Zeiss 6-lens rear camera, 8MP Zeiss wide-angle lens front camera, Surface Pen, USB Type-C, wireless charging, and runs Windows 10 Mobile.


According to the sources familiar with the matter, the device could be marketed as the “Surface Mobile” and will come with an aluminum and magnesium unibody design. Currently the “Surface Mobile” is being tested with the preview version of Windows Mobile and could be launched by the end of this year or early 2016.
