NokiaPowerUser has come up with a new report that claims Microsoft could launch the Lumia 940 and 940 XL smartphones on October 19th.

Although it was recently rumored that the Lumia 940 and 940 XL will be marketed as the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, it is now being tipped that this may not be the case. The new report does confirm that Microsoft will also be announcing the Surface Pro 4 tablet and a new Microsoft Band at the October 19 event in New York, as was rumored recently. In addition to these, some interesting accessories for the two smartphones are likely to be announced as well. Some of these accessories will be meant for “continuum for phones”.

As far as availability goes, the report claims both devices will start shipping soon after announcement, which means some markets could receive the Lumia 940 and 940 XL by the end of October. In terms of pricing, the Lumia 940 XL is rumored to cost about $649 while the smaller Lumia 940 will be priced lower at $600.
