Microsoft Lumia 650 to debut on February 1, claims new report

Microsoft Lumia 650

A new report published by Windows Central claims Microsoft is going to announce the Lumia 650 on February 1 through their official blog.

What we find very interesting is that the report claims the Lumia 650 will be the one and only new Lumia handset to be announced this year. That means we aren’t going to see Lumia 950 and 950 XL successors this year, which seems a little strange. Instead, the website claims Microsoft will unveil the “Panos phone” aka the fabled Surface Phone later this year. The Lumia 750 and Lumia 850 models were reportedly cancelled in July last year, so they aren’t going to show up soon as a few rumors had been suggesting in the recent past.

As for the Lumia 650, the report confirms the handset will be equipped with a 5” 720 x 1280 HD display and will be powered by the entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 or 212 chipset inside. There will also be 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, an 8MP primary camera with LED flash, 5MP selfie camera, and two color options – Matte White & Matte Black. Along with the info, the report also includes quite a few unofficial renders of the upcoming smartphone.
