Meizu has sent out invites for a media event on November 30th, where it plans to announce a new smartphone powered by a MediaTek Helio processor. If recent rumors are to be believed, the device set to be announced at the event will be dubbed the Meizu X.
Sadly, not much is known about the hardware specifications of the upcoming smartphone, except that it will be powered by a Helio SoC. However, most rumors seem to suggest the Helio X will be a high-end smartphone, positioned higher than the MX6 in the company’s lineup. That does make us wonder if the Meizu X will be powered by the same Helio X20 SoC inside the MX6 or if it will be powered by the slightly more powerful Helio X25 SoC instead. The Helio X30 doesn’t seem plausible though, as the first Helio X30 powered devices are not expected to be launched before June next year.
Along with the Meizu X, the company is rumored to launch the M5 Note as well, which will be powered by the MediaTek Helio P10 chipset and feature a 1080p resolution display. Rest of the device’s rumored specs include 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 13MP primary camera, and a 5MP selfie camera. It will run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box.
The Meizu event will be held at Beijing Performing Arts Center on November 30th at 2:30 PM China Time.
