Even though smartphones powered by the Helio X20 SoC are yet to begin shipping, details regarding its successor have sprung up already.
According to reports from the Chinese media, the Helio X30 SoC will be manufactured on TSMC’s 10nm FinFET process. The Helio X30 is also said to be a deca-core SoC like the X20 and X25, with a tri-cluster configuration. It will integrate 2 ARM A-7x Artemis cores clocked at 2.8GHz, 4 ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz, and four ARM Cortex-A35 cores clocked at 2GHz. The graphics will be handled by a new quad-core PowerVR 7XT GPU, which should be quite impressive.
The Helio X30 is also rumored to offer support for up to 26MP rear cameras, dual camera setups, and faster LTE Cat.13 network connectivity.
