MagicWand magically ‘stitches’ your Apple Magic Trackpad and Wireless Keyboard into a single input device

Now that Apple has both a wirelesss keyboard and a Magic Trackpad which both feature near identical design philosophies, it should be only natural that users would attempt to pair both devices together as a single piece of hardware for maximum aesthetic appeal. And while Twelve South's new MagicWand accessory does not exactly make use of magic to blend both devices together into one, the result is surprisingly sleek, for the lack of a better word.

This might sound like a stereotype, but it is generally accepted among many people that Mac users typically tend to value desktop workspace cleanliness much more than the typical PC user. After all, with a machine as sleek and aesthetically pleasing as a Mac and its accompanying hardware, it is only understandable that Mac users will want their entire workspace to be as visually appealing as the machine which sits on the desk located there.

And since Apple has demonstrated its desire that its computers and hardware be as integrated as possible in order to maintain its 'sleek and elegant' image, it might probably be of little surprise that Apple users are starting to find themselves adopting Apple's philosophies to their daily computing habbits. At least, it appears to be so with the new MagicWand accessory released by Twelve South.

The idea behind the MagicWand is simple. According to Twelve South, the MagicWand is " a cool little accessory that connects Apple’s Magic Trackpad to your Apple Wireless Keyboard, creating the sleek, one-piece input device you’ve been imagining". Simply put, the MagicWand is a simple but elegant-looking bar which allows users to position both the Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Magic Trackpad side-by-side to create the impression that the resulting outcome resembles an all-in-one keyboard with Apple's Magic Trackpad integrated into it. Needless to say, this results in a slightly cleaner desktop workspace, as shown in the images below.

Looks nice, doesn't it? Well, it goes without saying that the MagicWand is designed to work only with the Apple Wireless Keyboard and Apple Magic Trackpad, , both of which are not known to play very nice with non-OS X operating systems, so this is a classic case of 'only Mac users need apply'. But if that is not an issue, the MagicWand is available from Twleve South at the price of US$29.99.
