It has been a while.
Apple hasn’t made any significant changes to the Magic Mouse since 2009 and the wireless keyboard hasn’t been changed since before 2009, the company’s fans might be wondering if and when Apple is going to update these peripherals and it appears that their wait might come to an end soon enough.
FCC listings from Apple have been spotted which show that the company seeked approval for the Magic Mouse 2 and a new wireless keyboard. The listing doesn’t contain much information about the changes made to these peripherals, including any and all design changes, but does reveal that both have support for Bluetooth 4.0 which is going to be a big step up from Bluetooth 2.0 support in existing models.
Moreover the peripherals may also have a lithium-ion battery inside which would mean that users will never to have change the AA batteries on their own, because they won’t be needing AA batteries for the Magic Mouse 2 and the new wireless keyboard.
It can’t be said for sure right now when Apple is going to start selling the new Magic Mouse and wireless keyboard, there have been rumors that new iMacs are coming in a couple of months, perhaps these peripherals will be released along with the new computers.
