LG V20 to be the first smartphone with a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC

LG today revealed that its forthcoming flagship smartphone, the V20, will be the world’s first with a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC from ESS Technology.

A Quad DAC will deliver a crisp and clear sound that will make the listener feel as if he is in a live performance. It is not only capable of cutting down ambient noise levels by 50 percent, but will also allow the V20 to capture superior quality audio when recording videos.

Higher quality audio is simply the natural evolution of the smartphone, as the industry moves toward a more holistic multimedia consumption experience. We’re pleased to continue this long-term partnership with ESS and bring best in class audio to LG V20 users,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications.

The V20 will be unveiled at a media event on September 6th in San Francisco.
