The info comes from the same source that confirmed the original Nexus 5’s release date.
The Nexus 5 (2015) has been leaked to oblivion in the last few weeks, and a report out of the Korean media is now shedding light on when the smaller 2015 Nexus flagship will go on sale. The source, which rightly confirmed the release date of the Nexus 5 back in 2013, says the device will be available for purchase from Google from September 29th. That would be a bit earlier than the standard release time frame for Nexus devices, but it wouldn’t be a surprising move considering the Nexus 5 (2015) will simply be an upgraded variant of an existing Nexus smartphone.
The hardware on the Nexus 5 (2015) will include a Snapdragon 808 processor, a 5.2-inch display of Quad HD resolution, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, and a 5-megapixel front camera. If the September 29 release date turns out to be correct, it would also mean Google would be releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow before the regular schedule for new versions of the OS. That wouldn’t exactly make sense unless the Huawei Nexus is also coming out around the same time, but we will just have to wait and see what Google plans to do.
