LG launches Optimus Vu: with 5-inch display ahead of MWC 2012

With Mobile World Congress 2012 being just a week away, Korean electronics maker, LG, has decided to unveil their new Optimus Vu: smartphone before the event. The Optimus Vu: boasts a 5-inch IPS display with 4:3 aspect and supports LTE technology.

LG has unveiled one of their new LTE devices, the Optimus Vu: which is designed to maximize user experience on a smartphone. Powered by a powerful 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 32GB internal memory, the Optimus Vu: is equipped with 5-inch IPS touchscreen display (4:3 aspect ratio) and LG’s advanced LTE technology. The 4:3 aspect ratio is optimized for viewing, and with the IPS display, colors looked vibrant and natural even under bright sunlight.

Measuring only 8.5mm thin, the Optimus Vu may well be the slimmest among all currently available LTE phones on the market. Despite having such a compact body, it comes with a 2,080mAh battery that can provide you with enough multimedia enjoyment before the need to recharge. The Optimus Vu: also comes with 8-megapixel camera, HDMI output, supports Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) and will initially be launched with Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The company states that update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is already in the works.
