Over the past few weeks, we have seen a number of leaked LG G6 images that have clearly shown off the smartphone’s design. Today, a photo showing the front panel of the smartphone has been leaked, showing off its high screen-to-body ratio. As we have seen earlier, the latest photo shows very thin bezels on the sides as well as the top and bottom of the front. The front camera and sensor placement too matches with all the previous leaks.
The LG G6 is rumored to have a screen-to-body ratio of over 90%, similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix released last year. It will also have an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio, with a 1440 x 2880 resolution. Similar to past LG flagships, the G6 too will utilize an IPS LCD panel, but we do expect to see some major improvements compared to the panel used on the G5.
While LG’s next flagship will no doubt impress in the design department, we aren’t too sure if consumers will be okay with an older Snapdragon 821 SoC under the hood. Of course, if LG decides to undercut the Samsung Galaxy S8 in terms of pricing, this may not be an issue for most buyers, as the Snapdragon 821 is still a capable chip and can handle anything with ease. Other rumored highlights of the upcoming LG G6 include dust and water resistance, a Quad DAC similar to the V20, and support for wireless charging.
