LG’s latest flagship smartphone, the G5 will be launched in the Indian market sometime in the next quarter.
The info was revealed today by Amit Gujral, Marketing Head for mobile at LG India. He said, “We are really happy to see all the positivity around the LG G5 ever since its global unveil at the MWC. In fact, in a survey conducted in Korea the LG G5 topped consumer preference leaving its closest competitors trailing far behind. We hope to make this available to users in India very soon and are optimistic that consumers will love its revolutionary design and features.”
The G5 is a major upgrade over the G4 from last year and is the first mainstream flagship smartphone to offer a modular design. It packs a 5.3-inch Quad HD Quantum IPS display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, 16MP + 8MP dual camera setup at the back, 8MP selfie camera, USB Type-C, fingerprint sensor, and a 2800mAh capacity removable battery. You will also be able to add various modules or add-ons that LG refers to as “LG Friends” to your G5. These include the LG Cam Plus, Hi-Fi Plus module with Bang & Olufsen audio, and more. A number of other companion devices were also shown off at the company’s Mobile World Congress press conference, such as the LG 360 VR, LG 360 CAM, LG Tone Platinum headset, and the LG Rolling Bot.
