Leakster evleaks claims Microsoft will not launch the Lumia 1030

Potentially bad news for Lumia fans waiting for the Lumia 1020 successor to be released this year.

Even though a leaked image of the Lumia 1030 showed up online yesterday, it seems like the Lumia 1030 may not actually be launched. According to leakster evleaks, Microsoft has stopped working on the Lumia 1030. Project McLaren (internal codename for the Lumia 1030) is said to be “dead”.

Evleaks also revealed in his tweet that Microsoft is done with the x30 generation, which means we will not see any more Lumia smartphones with the x30 moniker. That makes the Lumia 730 the very last handset of the x30 series generation.

While Microsoft may not be launching a Lumia 1020 successor this year, it is still going to launch two new flagship smartphones this year with Quad HD displays. One of those two devices, the Lumia 940 XL, was recently confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC and pack a 20MP PureView rear camera.
