A few days back a report claimed Apple is going to release the iPhone 6c by November this year. More details on the smartphone have surfaced today, courtesy of Chinese sources. According to the latest info, the iPhone 6c will not be powered by the Apple A9 chipset but the older A8 SoC used on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Apart from an upgraded chipset, the iPhone 5c successor will also get the Touch ID fingerprint scanner, as revealed earlier this year on the Apple Store website. The device will pack NFC too, to support the Apple Pay mobile payment service.
No other key details have been leaked though, so other specs such as the display size and resolution, camera resolution, and battery size remain a mystery for now. We’re also curious to find out if Apple will stick to the polycarbonate build with the new model or go with metal for a more premium look and feel.
