Kyocera intros an $80 waterproof Android smartphone

Kyocera has come up with an affordable Android smartphone that comes with IP57 certification for dust and water resistance. The IP57 certification means the smartphone can stay submerged under water for up to 30 minutes in 1 meter deep water.

The Kyocera Hydro Shore packs a 5-inch display with 540 x 960 qHD resolution Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core chipset clocked at 1.1 GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable in-built storage, 5MP rear camera, 2MP selfie camera, and a 2160mAh battery. It measures 139 x 72.1 x 9.9mm and weighs in at 141 grams. The smartphone runs on the older Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, which isn’t too disappointing given the price.

Priced at just $80, the Hydro Shore can be purchased in the US currently via Walmart.
