Korean user manual confirms Samsung Galaxy S4 with LTE-Advanced and Snapdragon 800

Well, well, well, what have we here? Could it be further proof the Samsung Galaxy S4 variant supporting LTE-Advanced and packing a Snapdragon 800 chip is real? Why, yes, it is.

And this time, it comes from the horse’s mouth, meaning straight from Samsung. We’re not sure if Sammy meant for all this to be revealed already, but what can you do? A user manual for an SHV-E330S has been found on the Galaxy makers’ website and in there somewhere (at page 154, to be more exact), it says very clearly the phone comes with an MSM8974 CPU in tow.

That’s the full name of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chip, introduced to the world way back in January, but yet to be seen inside a gadget available for sale. It’s all going to change soon enough though, and not just because this GS4 is coming. Sony’s Xperia ZU, LG’s Optimus G2, HTC’s One Max and even a mystery Nokia “phablet” are expected to be Snapdragon 800-powered.

Now, what else is different between the SHV-E330S and existing flavors of the S4? Well, I could let you peruse through all the 163 pages of the user manual to find that for yourselves, but I’m not that cruel. So I’ll just go ahead and serve it to you on a silver platter – the E330 is set to be the world’s first smartphone to support LTE-A speeds.

We’ve talked about LTE-Advanced a couple of times before, so I don’t want to go into details again. In a nutshell, LTE-A is theoretically for 4G LTE what 4G LTE is for HSDPA. Sadly, all major global operators are yet to roll out LTE-A, which is why Samsung is likely to intro the SHV-E330S only in Korea, where rumor has it the new networks should be live any day now. But, but, but, why can’t we all get that Snapdragon 800 heat, Sammy?
