KDDI Japan’s HTC J One comes with dual SIM and microSD support

HTC has just introduced a new version of the company's latest flagship smartphone. The J One is to launch on KDDI Japan  in early June with a 4.7-inch, Full HD screen, Snapdragon 600 CPU, plus… dual SIM and microSD support.

Compared with HTC’s last few flagship smartphones, the recently launched One has very obviously stepped things up a notch or two. But it’ll still likely fall short of greatness, at least in terms of sales numbers.

That’s due to HTC’s past failures, which can’t be forgotten so easily, but also because of the new phone’s very obvious and not so minor flaws. Like the users’ inability of removing and replacing the battery if needed. Or the absence of a microSD card slot, which makes the on-board memory’s expansion impossible.

Only the One is not crippled by these weaknesses all around the world. China has already gotten a special version of the thing with a removable back cover (not battery, though) and microSD support, while Japan will be receiving an almost identical model come early June.

Specifically, KDDI, the nation’s second largest network, is going to be the one to sell this new variant, dubbed simply the HTC J One. Also known as the HTL22, the phone will support up to 64 GB cards and come with 32 gigs of internal storage space, meaning you will be able to secure yourselves a comfy 96 GB of memory if needed.

Oddly, it appears KDDI will not sell a J One variation with 16 GB of on-board storage as well, so chances are the thing will be quite pricey. Then again, it’s likely going to be all worth it, because the One nears perfection when expandable memory is added in the equation.

Remember, the 4.7-incher sports a beautiful Full HD screen with 469 ppi pixel density and packs a lot of oomph under its hood, courtesy of a zippy quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and 2 GB of RAM. The battery is decently sized, at 2,300 mAh, while the main snapper is a unique 4 UltraPixel unit. What more could you want?
