According to popular leakster Evan Blass, the 2016 iPhone models will be release in the week of September 12th.
Last year, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus went up for pre-order starting September 12th. While the exact date is yet to be confirmed for this year, the leakster did reveal that Apple will only be releasing two new iPhone models at its September keynote and not three as rumored recently. The two 2016 iPhone models are apparently codenamed Sonora and Dos Palos.
While the two models are expected to be relatively minor upgrades over their predecessors in terms of the design, the bigger 5.5” model is expected to sport an all-new dual camera setup at the back. We are also looking forward to a more powerful Apple A10 chipset, 32GB base storage option, and a few other hardware upgrades.
